Shake-A-Leg Confidence is Cool  Summer Camps

Shake-A-Leg is a non-profit organization that is hosting  the 11th year of Confidence Is Cool Summer Camps over six weeks in Newport this summer. It is open to eligible campers, ages 7-17, who may have an interest in a week or more of sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, mobility games and field trips- and just having fun.

The Confidence Is Cool camps are structured specifically to address the needs of children disabled by spinal cord injury or other related neurological disorders. Their staff to participant ratio is over 1:1, which provides a safe and nuturing environment for the congenitally-disabled child or adolescent to develop self-confidence. Shake-A-Leg provided scholarships for over 80% of last year's participants and worked with RIPTA to successfully make their RIde Program available to parents with transportation needs.

Shake-A-Leg will be sending you a postcard to pass along to any interested students. Information and applications for the sessions are also available on their website -
www.shakealeg.org/ccc_kids. html  or www.shakealeg.org/ccc_teens.html  -- or by contacting  their Program Director, Sarah Kirwin, at sarahk@shakealeg.org and 401-338-9881.
